Compilation CD
From flappers to matrons the modern woman continued to celebrate freedom from
corsetry. The styles in this period softened from a "boyish"
silhouette to a more fluid, feminine line. The look is modern and streamlined.
I've extracted images from women's magazines: The Delineator (by
Butterick) Fashion Service (by The Women's Institute) and several others.
During this era the publications did not contain as much dressmaking instruction
as in previous years. This was due partly to the creation of tissue patterns
that contained printed instruction. The focus is on design, but I will try to
feature dressmaking lessons and diagrams wherever possible.
This disc is a compilation of images from The Delineator and Fashion Service
magazines from the year 1928. I have selected images from these magazines
pertaining to fashion, dressmaking, and millinery.
