The printed afternoon frock is an important and charming fashion. Here the straight gathered skirt is scalloped, but it may have an even lower edge instead of the new backward dip. The wide girdle is of ribbon and follows the upward line of the skirt. The round neck and the long close sleeves are smart.
For size 36, use 3 3/4 yards of 39 inches printed Georgette and 3 yards of 6 inch ribbon. Designed for sizes 32 to 35 (15 to 18 years) and 36 to 44.

In this frock of rough crepe, Jean Patou covers the arms, then adds ruffles above wrists and knees. He covers the shoulders and almost eclipses the square opening with thick ruffles and a border.
Size 36, 4 1/4 yards 36 inch.

The hemline of this printed bow frock is broken on the right side by the handkerchief drapes. On the left they rise to the waistline in a double tier across the front. Handkerchiefs also form the smart cuffs on the long close sleeves. The frock slips over the head and may blouse above the snug girdle. It is designed for sizes 32 to 35 (15 to 18 years) and for 36 to 44.

Two tiers of circular flounces are put on diagonally across the front of a smart frock and push most of their flare to one side. The bertha touches the waistline in back and is caught up with a bow in front. The sash adds to the flutter at the left side. The frock is one-piece, slips over the head, and may have long sleeves.
Use 4 7/8 yards 39 inch Georgette for size 36 (19 years). Designed for sizes 32 to 37 (15 to 20 years) and 38, 40.
Lower edge 46 inches.

Worth brings back the sunburst in a blaze of rhinestones. Even then the frock was too regular, so he adds a flying buttress of drapery.
