1904
Compilation CD
From Queen Victoria to King Edward, from Teddy Roosevelt's America and the
days before the telephone, this period marks the beginning a new era. The First
World War was still years away. I've extracted images primarily from the
magazines published by the pattern making companies of the day. The big three: The
Delineator, published by Butterick; The Designer, published by
Standard Fashion; and McCall's, which published its own
patterns. There is, of course, material from other publications. During this era
printed publications were the main source of fashion news and served as the
primary instruction for home sewers.
This disc is a compilation of images from The Designer and The Delineator magazines from the year
1904. I have selected pages from these magazines
pertaining to fashion and dressmaking.
This is a small example of what is available through my services. I am happy
to create custom CD-ROMs from my primary source materials for any of your
dressmaking needs. Please click on the e-mail link at the bottom of this page.
